Pays Chaumontais Community of Communes

Introduction

The Organizing Authority

The Communauté de Communes du Pays Chaumontais (CCPC) is a public body comprising 33,231 inhabitants. Its role is to establish close co-operation between the communes in key areas of local life. This local authority area includes 20 communes.
The purpose of the inter-communal structure is the overall and sustainable development of its territory.
The scope of the Pays Chaumontais Community of Communes breaks down into three groups:
• Compulsory areas of competence
Planning of public spaces and economic development
• Optional areas of competence
The CCPC is active in the field of housing and lifestyle (local housing and housing renovation programmes, etc.)
• Facultative areas of competence
These concern communications actions (publications, etc.), tourist and leisure activities, local services (social and/or cultural), the upkeep of everyday heritage sites and green spaces, urban/peri-urban and school transport.
The CCPC is the Organizing Authority for transport over an area (PTU) covering the entire inter-communal area - 345 km2.
This transport remit is implemented within the area through the organization and financing of school transport routes, an urban network – ‘le Bus’ and a demand-driven transport service – ‘Proxibus’ managed by Bus Est, a transport operator.
